Places Unveiled is a travel discovery blog about historic towns, scenic villages, cultural landmarks, and beautiful destinations around the world. This Sources & Credits page explains how we research our articles, where our images come from, and how we credit the people and organizations behind them.

How We Research Our Articles

Every guide starts with research from reputable, verifiable sources. We cross-check key facts such as history, locations, and visitor information across more than one source whenever possible. Our main sources include:

  • Official tourism boards and destination websites
  • The UNESCO World Heritage Centre for World Heritage sites
  • Local government and municipal websites
  • Museums, heritage organizations, and cultural institutions
  • Historical references, encyclopedias, and educational resources
  • Google Maps and other mapping tools for locations and directions

Most articles end with a Sources section that links to the references used for that destination, so you can dig deeper or double-check details yourself.

Where Our Images Come From

Places Unveiled uses images that are free to use under their license terms, including:

How We Credit Images

Each article includes an Image Credits section listing the photographer or creator and the source platform for every photo used. For Creative Commons images, we also name the license (for example, CC BY-SA 4.0) and link to the original file, as the license requires. Licenses such as Unsplash and Pexels do not require attribution, but we credit photographers anyway because their work deserves recognition.

Image Concerns and Removal Requests

If you are a photographer or rights holder and believe one of your images has been used or credited incorrectly, please contact us through our Contact page. Include the page link and the image in question, and we will review it promptly. Depending on the situation, we will correct the attribution, replace the image, or remove it.

Corrections and Updates

Travel information changes over time, and we update articles when we learn something has changed. If you spot outdated information, a factual error, or a broken link, please let us know. Reader corrections help keep our guides reliable for everyone.
